The difference in data from qualitative research and data from quantitative research is found in their root words, quality and quantity. Qualitative research data is the opinions of a certain group. This research also captures the why, would, and how the target audience react to certain issues, situations, and/or products. Observation is less biasing on one’s behavior rather questioning. There are disadvantages of observation as well. The observer must be where the event will take place in order to observe. This action at times is hard to predict. Observation is also slow, experience, and time consuming. When observing for the purpose of data collection, observation is difficult as it relates to one’s intentions attitude, opinion, or preference. The circumstance under which a case can be made for observation is as follows: A parent is interested in observing his or her child in school or in class. On the day the parent is in the class, the child may not demonstrated the said unacceptable behavior in front of the parent. Therefore, the child not demonstrating the behavior causes the parent to schedule a return visit to the classroom. The additional day or days the parent is at the school or in the class are days they are not at work. This summer I was offered an internship for Merrill Lynch in my hometown of Towson, Maryland. For eight weeks, I worked five days a week for an average of thirty hours. There are numerous Merrill Lynch offices in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area. Offices in Annapolis and Baltimore are greater in numbers and advisors. The Towson region only has about fifteen advisors and four client assistants. However, almost all of those advisors started their careers in Baltimore. The Towson office was for more established advisors who already have a distinguished client list. Because the office was much smaller, I was the only intern for the summer, which proved to have both its ups and downs. Women craved an education equal to men, so that they can undertake more responsible, independent well paid jobs, that they could not for fill without an education. There were many areas of inequality against women. The divorce law is a string example of this. The men even had legal rights to the children if they had any, even though the woman’s job was to look after the children, while the male was at work. So when the divorce takes place the Man still goes to work, and has to leave the children at home without a mother. Women strongly felt that equality was a basic and natural human right. During the 1800’s many more men had gained the vote, men with possible less resulting influence than some women had. Women weren’t just thinking of themselves, they felt that their education they could bring about better childcare and housing. This would benefit everyone. Their were many reasons why women campaigned for the vote, one of them being that women had to obey the laws as did the men but they had no say through political representatives on what they abided by.
